Our
Mission
The
Coalition for Jewish Learning (CJL) promotes and advances Jewish education
in the greater Milwaukee community, provides a support system for the
community's institutions of Jewish learning, and forges coalitions to
ensure excellence in
Jewish education.
How We Carry Out Our
Mission
CJL, the education program of the Milwaukee Jewish
Federation, offers a variety of educational programs and services for
adults, teens and children, including:
-
Educational consultation to day schools, synagogue schools, preschools, agencies
and community organizations.
-
The Creativity Center, Library/Media Center, and Holocaust Education
and Resource Center are resource
centers that serve schools, agencies, institutions and the community
at large.
-
The Professional Jewish Educator, a journal focusing on curriculum
and instructional matters.
-
Principals Councils that allow common planning, sharing, and professional
growth for administrators in various fields.
-
Adult learning opportunities
aimed at creating "a community of learners." CJL achieves
its missions by making available human and material resources to the
community, by forging partnerships with an array of other community
agencies, and by bringing together those who share common goals.
Who We Are
CJL's leadership includes professional educators,
community leaders, and affiliated representatives from all branches of
Judaism. We serve every educational setting in Milwaukee, respecting the
autonomy and ideological integrity of all.
